Where has the time gone...17 months old!

Wow!  Sorry it has been so long since I have last blogged.  It has been so busy since I have started teaching again so I apologize.

Miss Charlotte is just amazing!  She is walking now (well, walking, falling, walking, falling).  She loves this new freedom of hers and is quite proud of herself for this.  She is climbing on the furniture at any moment, but the best is when she climbs up with a book of hers and sits there reading her book like she is a big girl!  She is saying words like "Woah", "Mama", "Dada", "car", "ish" for "fish", "shoos" for "shoes".

This week, Charlotte got her first complete haircut.  She has gotten her bangs cut before, but this week she got her whole head of hair trimmed up, and now it is a cute little bob!  Charlotte did such a good job at Cookie Cutters while they wet her hair down, cut her hair, and blow-dryed it (although she was not much of a fan of the blow drying).

We are excited because tomorrow we are going to go get our first real Christmas tree as a family and decorate our house for the holidays!  Charlotte is enjoying the Christmas music as we have had it playing pretty much all of the time the last couple of days, and she dances away to it.

I promise to not go so long before the next blog entry!  Take care and Happy Holidays!

The following are some pictures that our friend Tyler took of our family a couple of months ago.  Enjoy!

Twelve-thirteen months old!

Char is thirteen months old!!  Wowzers...the time has flown by, and it has been such a blast seeing her grow into her little self.

Charlotte had an amazing birthday!  We had the first annual "L.S. Ayers Tea Room birthday luncheon" with Grammy, Grandma, Andrew, Char, and I which was quite fun!  It was raining so we could not go to the park like we had planned so we had her birthday party at our house.  Aunt Liz came into town to surprise Char for her birthday, and it was so special to have her and Uncle Kevin here!  It was nice to have close friends and family there to celebrate Char's first year!  There was a lot of love in the room, and it was clear that Char was comfortable because she was quite the ham.  She was pretty dainty about her cupcake cake, but she seemed to enjoy the frosting.

Char, today,  is cruising on furniture and pulling up on everything so I think it will not be long before she is standing by herself or walking.  She loves loves loves reading books which I am happy about since I am fond of children's literature.  Her favorite foods now are waffles, mandarin oranges, ham and cheese sandwiches, and macaroni and cheese.

This last week Char started saying "oh".  Grammy also taught Charlotte to say "shh" when Stella barks.  I love her saying these words!!  It just seems like she is so old when she is "talking" all the time.

Eleven months old!

Eleven months old...holy cow!  It has been such a fun past couple of months since I last posted.  Char has not been doing a typical crawl.  Instead, she is doing an amazing army crawl.  She is fast and gets to where she needs to go.  She is definitely the fastest when she is going towards the sound machine cord, Derby's toys, and other things that she should not be playing with...haha.  Char has been eating most any foods that we eat, but her favorites are any fruit, toast, Mum-Mums, green beans, and sweet potatoes.  Char has really enjoyed being outside more and having picnics or playing on the blanket outside.  She is standing at different pieces of furniture alone and has been beginning to pull herself up. She has learned to do a high five so that is fun to do with Char.

Her personality is still pretty calm, but she has been showing a bit more impatience when we have to change her diaper, put her in her carseat sometimes, or take her away from something that she really wants.  Overall, though, she is calm and content.

We took out first trip to the Indianapolis Zoo a few weeks ago, and it was awesome!  It made me look forward to the many many times we will go in the future when she is walking around and so excited about the animals.  The first time we went she did not notice many of the animals, but she did spy the antelope and love them!  The second time we went she noticed many more animals, I think, because it was much less crowded and overcast.

Enjoy the pictures and videos.  I can't believe that the next time I post something she will be a year old!  Where has the time gone?!?!

Nine months old

I can't believe Char is nine months old!  Char is now 22 lbs and 30 inches long!  She is going to be one tall girl since she is in the 97th and 99th percentile for her weight and height!  Charlotte is army crawling, but not yet doing a conventional crawl.  I am not sure if she will do a conventional crawl because she is pretty content wherever she is, and I am perfectly happy with that!  Char's eyes are getting bluer and her hair is getting so much thicker and blonder!   The past two months have been filled with much laughter, standing, army crawling, eating new foods, feeding herself, drinking water out of a sippy cup, jumping, rolling rolling rolling, and tons of talking!  Char also just started waving and clapping which is so fun!!  I think I hear a "hi!" too when she waves which is exciting!  She claps all the time even when it is time to eat and she claps the spoon of food!  HA!  I definitely see more girl in her rather than baby, and you can tell she is a Bucher because she looks just like Andrew!  Enjoy the pics!

Notice my awesome "My First Butler Tee" t-shirt which I wore while supporting the Butler men's basketball team during the Final Four!

7 month old

So it has been an exciting month!   We went to Anna Maria Island in Florida last week, and we had an awesome time with my family!!  We went with Grammy, Pod, Aunt Liz, Uncle Kevin, Uncle Jared, Aunt Traci, and Cousin Vaughn!  Char experienced some new things while in Florida...first plane ride, which she did awesome!  She saw and "walked" on the beach for the first time!  She also went swimming for the first time and seemed to really enjoy it!  Char also sat in a high chair almost everyday, which she hasn't had much experience before the trip.  She loved seeing the action!

In other news, Char is babbling up a storm..her most recent "words" are "dadadada" and "babababa."  She also has been blowing air out of her mouth and onto toys and us, which has been fun!  She has been sitting up a like a champ and standing really well too!  Char has been eating many veggies and fruits and LOVES them all!  I think that she has liked sweet potatoes and apples the best so far! She drank out of a sippy cup for the first time on Sunday and was quite curious of it.  Oh yeah, she also got her first tooth!!!  A week before we left for Florida, I was putting her in her carseat, and BOOM, there it was!  It was nice that it did not cause her too much pain!  Hopefully the rest will be that easy....haha!

Well, I think that is good for now, but here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

Char and her cousin, Vaughn, enjoying some picture taking together!

6 months old!!

Hello hello!  It has been a while since we have posted anything...busy busy time, but here are some new pics and videos of Char!  At her 6 month check up on the 17th, Char was 19 lbs 14 oz which is in the 97th percentile, and she was 28 1/2 inches long which is in the 99 percentile.  So, we have got a tall one in our midst!  Char, I feel like in the past month, has just grown so much!  She started reaching out and grabbing things, including my hair.  She started sitting up by herself, and she rolled over from front to back all by herself!!  She also has had squash and carrots within the last week which she loves!  We celebrated her first Christmas with both sides of the family, and she did just great!  She got some great things from her family so thank you to all!  We are loving seeing how much Char is growing, and cannot wait to see what she shows us next!  Enjoy the videos and pics!

19 weeks old!!

It has been an exciting few weeks with Char exploring new things.  We took our first road trip to Minnesota for my cousin's wedding, and she did awesome!  She slept most of the way and was happy as a clam while in Minnesota.  Both she and the family were excited to meet each other!  Charlotte has officially discovered her feet and loves them!  She squeezes them all the time now while she is sitting up.  She also has noticed her hands and occasionally gets a dazed look in her eyes while focusing on them.  Char has been laughing so much lately we had to take a video of it to share with you!  Char also celebrated her first Halloween by being a ladybug.  Even though she was so hot in the costume, she enjoyed showing it off for her friends at Warren.  Within the last couple of days, we put Char in the jumper for the first time, and she, I think, could have stayed in there forever.  She LOVED it!  Phew...she has been one growing and busy lady the last few weeks!  Enjoy the new pics and the video.
